Thread: Whats in your smoothie??

    Default Another Smoothie Recipe

    Every morning before the kids go to school, I make the following:

    Triple Berry Mix (Frozen) or any kind of frozen fruit
    1 Frozen Banana
    100% Juice to cover fruit (They prefer Grape.)
    2 containers of Activia Yogurt
    1/4 cup Ground Flax Seed
    1/4 cup Ground Wheat Germ

    Blend until smooth and creamy.

    Most of my children love this...the others tolerate it just fine and I feel great sending them off to school with excellent nutrition under their belt.

    So...

    Where do you all get your protein powder? I've heard of Muscle Milk; my fiancé gets it from GNC.

    Am I going to pay an arm and a leg for protein powder?

    you guys drink this smoothies after or before you work out...you use soy milk for protein?? or just cause is better that kind??

    It is quick nutrition and does not need much prep most of the fruit naturally comes in its very own air tight container that you don't even mind putting in a land fill.
    Make it like you are going to drink and enjoy it.... a smoothie should be one of taste and not reminding you of waste.

    i was wondering if 4 example my last class is at 730pm and i do the post smoothie drink...do i need more...or do i have to eat more (like my cereal like i was used too).....i am new on this post and pre smoothie thing....

    Doesn't muscle milk have a lot of carbs in it?

    Okay...how do I know if I need to add protein? I don't want all those calories and fat if I don't need it. Plus too much protein isn't good either. How do I know if I need more?
