Thread: Keiser M3 + Question - Noise

  1. Default Keiser M3 + Question - Noise

I purchased a new Keiser M3+ and I like it very much. One question though. Everyone touts that this bike of very quiet and I have read totally silent. However, when pedaling, I hear a rubbing noise, like a brake pad against the flywheel. It is not obnoxisly loud or anythng and sounds like a whoosh. I just wanted to make sure that this is normal.

Not normal. When the M3 is operating properly you can barely hear anything. I teach in a studio where we have 40 of them and the class can be full and you can easily communicate by whispering. The flywheel guard might be rubbing or there could be some misalignment somewhere that is causing a noise. Have someone ride it while you look around for the cause of the noise and contact Keiser service if you can't fix it yourself.
