Hello! I am a new spinning instructor and love teaching. I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion of a book that you can buy with profile ideas? Thanks!

I don't think there is one... A truly fetching biz idea for the entrepreneur.

Dirk Friel published a book of indoor cycling workouts a while back.

I have a veritbable cornucopia of profiles....they take up two big loose leaf binders as a matter of fact.

All I had to do was post 10 legit posts on the P-O forum (yes.....that was the number originally)

Just sayin'

Besides Vivs awesome recommendation- joining ICA and/or ICI gives you access to several detailed profiles. The profiles on these sites typically follow a progression that you can tie into a periodization program for your classes. They are also great resources because they explain the exercise science behind indoor cycling and offer several coaching/teaching tips that you can use in your classes.

Check them out at

(http://indoorcyclingassociation.com/)Good luck.

P.S. I am not a representative of either organization... I just think that they are really cool and appreciate them very much.

If you can afford it, I agree that ICA and ICI are totally worth the price. There is no comparison to the profiles professionals like Jennifer Sage and Tom Scotto publish.

For free, you can check books out of your local library by Joe Friel (The Cyclists Training Bible), Chris Carmichael, Selene Yeager. Although this requires some work on your part, you will get rides and great coaching information.

Put the keepers in a binder and pretty soon you will have your own big book of profiles.

I have both volumes and use them regularly as a starting point when creating new profiles.

I have both of these profile books and they are very handy. Very nice selection in each energy zone. They are winners!

Have fun!

Thanks for your recommendation!
I wanted to order the 2 profile books, but shipping costs (at least in Europe) are - let me put it nicely - totally unrealistic... :(

Thanks for the advice on these books...as a beginner I'm noticing I can't get enough help when creating playlists.
