Hey can you talk to mine? I'm stuck on a Giant Pegasus, although I have managed to sneak better handle bars, post and seat onto it ... shhhhh

I'm thinking custom carbon (like the Parlee that Tyler Hamilton rode last year at Mt. Washington) with an FSA compact SRM crank, Nimble Spider wheels for training and Nimble Fly tubulars for TT's and races. And ergo bars with the flat part on top (FSA makes some tasty ones). Full DA, etc. etc. Mmmmmmm...:D

And yes, Pink, life is short, but I'm in grad school - this will be my Ph.D. present to myself.

One that takes me where I want to go, responds to my commands, and rides effortlessly through any hill, straight away or corner that I take. One that is at my becon call and yells at me when I don't ride it enough.

You should be careful what you wish for...will it also negotiate the riding time with the other factions in your life? ;)

Well, I like the Merckx a lot, but I live about 1/8th of a mile from the Serotta factory/Farmhouse and I've known Ben for a while, so he might give me a discount on that Ottrott, .......maybe. ;)

My three choices (because you need one for each situation :) )

Road: http://www.feltracing.com/06/06_bikes/images/f1c_12.jpgFelt f1c. Full Dura-Ace 20spd. groupo. Full carbon frame.

Mountain (I don't really care as much about mountain):
http://www.motobecane.com/flt.jpg
Motobecane FLY Team; 27spd. kinesium frame. Don't really understand any of the other jargon, but I am in absolute amor with Motobecane (my current bike is a Motobecane Le Champion ~ love it!), so I've gotta represent.

Tri:

Cervélo P3 w/Dura Ace. I have never seen a bike quite so gorgeous as this. I really haven't.

Happy riding! I love that feel of a new bike. Even just getting new components makes a bike feel new again.

That's what's gonna get me through the rest of grad school. Not the desire to learn something, but the desire to get a new bike as a graduation present. :D
